Backordered T60p, is my rebate gone now?

My ship date has been pushed to 07/18/06 now, with the required postmark date on the rebate being 7/30. If the laptop is pushed back again, or gets delayed at UPS customs... my rebate window will be completely gone, and 200 bucks back (reason for even buying it) is gone. Now this could ship near that time, but then I am left with a maybe 8-10 day return/exchange window for defects, since cutting out the UPC for the rebate makes the laptop mine forever, regardless of the 30 day return.

So what would you do in this situation. I can bet I am not the only one who purchased a laptop during that time for the rebate, and now seeing my chances of actually getting it slowly running away.

Assuming you bought your T60p directly from Lenovo, I would think that they would still honor the rebate. Give them a call to make sure, and have them add a note to your file.
