WELCOME SCREEN PROBLEM

#1 Post by sarada » Tue Jul 11, 2006 5:36 pm

Hi

My ThinkPad T60 series, Type: 2007-5GA with Window XP SP2, got some problem. When I setup and install some program, I found my window logon screen (Welcome Screen) disappear. When I go to Control Panel-User Account and click to Change the way user log on or off, one dialogue box appear, coating "due to some recently installation program this not working and this is related to vrlogon.dll.....". Now when I start up just single tab appear for logon and I log either finger reader or press ALt+Ctrl+Del and after go to password.

I went to lenovo site also. There is solution for same problem for T43 series but not T60.

Next I don't understand why it's bit slow when first startup? It took almost 3~4 minutes. Is there any problem?

Could some body help me please!!!

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums :)

That is due to the Fingerprint Reader software replacing the Welcome screen. Disable the FPR software, pretty much the same solution for the T43, with the latest FPR software, can be aplied to the T60. :)

christopher_wolf, thanks for your suggestion. But it won't work that the same way of T43. Because of T60 "Setting" of FPR is quite different then T43. It may have different solution. Any one please.......

I am pretty sure it is very similar; try disabling it by selecting to not use it to log on a user and then enable the XP logon screen and FUS. :)

vrlogon.dll strikes again

#5 Post by dave » Sun Jun 22, 2008 12:13 pm

I have a T61p which I just downgraded to XP and added SP3, and then I got both the Welcome Windows screen and the fingerprint logon prompt at the top of the screen. I even installed the Fingerprint software on my old ThinkPad 770ED to see if it would work with a Lenovo Fingerprint reader keyboard, and that machine has the same type of display... Welcome Windows with prompt to swipe finger at the top... or now since I disconnected the Fingerprint keyboard it says at the top... Please connect Fingerprint Keyboard.

Anyway now I installed something on my T61p and I can't get the Welcome Windows Screen anymore. I uninstalled the fingerprint reader software, but it still did the same thing.

What causes vrlogon.dll to exist anyway?
