problems with my mouse pointer?

Hi, first time posting a question, love the forums and my 43. Anyway, I had a peculiar problem last night while typing away... my mouse pointer just started drifting to the right in a straight line. It's happened before when I plug my mouse into the laptop but this time, I didn't have the mouse plugged in, I was just using the touchpad. Can someone tell me how to remedy this the next time it happens and possibly why it happens? Much thanks.

Did you use the Trackpoint at all? That could be the minor recalibration the Trackpoint undergoes to reset the force offset it experienced when the user puts excessive force on it in one direction for an extended period of time. It is perfectly normal.
