To bad it still has serious limitations (video card it emulates is archaic and not supported on most OS's, very slow emulation, doesn't handle large amounts of memory well).

Hopefully 2007 will fix that.

In the mean time, VMWare Server is available free... and works suprisingly good as a workstation:

Is Virtual PC that much inferior to VMWare Workstation? I use VMWare Player at work. it's pretty easy to use and not too slow.

It is becoming part of the growing Virtualization Wars now that MS has released VPC for free.

Although, for now, I am going to stick to VMware.

Things will change, but as of now, VMware is the superior tool. Just like there are better firewall, malware removers and such like out there than Microsoft's attempts, so also is it with virtualization tools.
