I then tried using the thinkvantage Backup to clone the entire HDD to an external USB enclosure first. But it's freaking slow...... The program reported something like 3 hours to finish the backup, I thought it's not too bad and waited, you know what, after more than 3 hours, I realized that's for the first 20GB partition, so to clone the entire drive, it would take more than 12 hours.
Now I am trying True image, however, since the new HDD is not bootable, I am not really sure if trueimage comes with a DOS boot program that supports reading from an USB external enclosure. I know I couldn't do that with Ghost 2003. If not, I am screwed again.
I didn't expect this much hassle, you know. I originally thought I could use the ultrabay adaptor to do the cloning very easily. I ordered the ultrabay HDD adaptor from Lenovo and new HDD from another online vendor at the same time. The HDD reached me in two days, but the adaptor would take 3 weeks to get me, that's really beyond me considering it's such a simple thing to make.
Any advice will be appreciated.
