"Blaster" virus kid

#1 Post by mattfromomaha » Thu Aug 12, 2004 11:01 am

SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- A Minnesota high school senior pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to unleashing a variant of the "Blaster" Internet worm, which crippled more than a million computers last summer.

What ever happened to the days when kids would steal a six-pack and then toilet paper someone's house for fun? Imagine the millions of dollars that would have been saved if this kid had a girlfriend to keep him busy...

Hopefully they stick him in a cell with a big guy who hasn't seen a woman in a while..... I hate these virus-creating jackasses. Twice now I've gotten nailed with a virus because Symantec didn't have it in the scanner yet, and it's such a PIA.

I'd sentence him to a couple of years of "community service" which, in his case, would be cleaning up infected computers. It might give him some insight into the consequences of his "pranks."

BTW, this guy is just a copycat "script kiddie." The author of the original Blaster is still very much at-large.
