Hello all..probably a basic question for most of you.
My R50e has a Celeron 340 CPU that I would like to upgrade.
My two alternatives are to pin mod the Celeron or replace with a Pentium M 735.
Regarding the pin mod, I have seen posts that say this works only with 915 Chipsets, and others that say both 855 and 915 sets support this mod. Will this work with my 855 board?
Is there an appreciable increase in processor heat and/or a decrease in battery life using a celeron moded CPU versus a stock Celeron?
I am leaning towards the Pentium M and I guess I just want some opinions on the pros and cons of these options.
I use my rig mostly for surfing and light video editing..battery life is also important.
Thanks
