Remov/Installing video drivers on T40 same as desktop?

#1 Post by Fergy » Mon Jul 17, 2006 8:33 pm

Hello,

I have removed/cleaned video drivers coutnless of times for Nvidia cards, using Driver Cleaner Pro and then proceeding to install the new video drivers.

Now with this ATi card and installing drivers on a laptop (T40, Radeon Mob. 7500, 32mb vram), I can find any good drivers. I realize the card is rather old in terms of hardware, but what are the best (newest?) drivers for these T40s.

Do I install the same drivers that I would if I had the same or similar ATi card in a desktop PC, or special "IBM" ones?

Thanks! :?

You need the mobile version of ATI Catalyst driver. IBM one will work. There are other alternatives such as Omega.

Link?

I tried one modified driver and when I went to install it after uninstalling the video driver, it said there was no video driver installed. System restore didn't. . .restore my video driver, so I just used the IBM partition and started over again. :P
