Dual monitor problem with my T42

#1 Post by Chester » Wed Jul 19, 2006 3:42 am

Hello all,
can you help me with my problem?

I have a T42 and I want to connect an external monitor.
The problem is, that the external screen it "blinks" just like when you use low frequency (Hz) on CRT monitors.
I tried replacing the external monitor for an other model, changing frequency and even gave my disk into another T42! Nothing helped.
Changing BIOS features is useless.
I think it is not a driver problem, because the problem occurs even when starting windows, on the startup screen.
Do you have any suggestions?

My graphic card is ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 Series
and I use WinXP.

Thanks for help!

You can change your external monitor frequency. If i remember correctly, by default my ext. monitor when connected to my T40 runs at 60hz... so you need to change it yourself to 75 or high hz.

The way to do it is as usual, go to

control panel
display
settings
advanced
monitor [or Raedon Display]

hope it helps

Thanks for help, but it didn't work.
The only change is that the "blinking" is faster

Are you certain that the monitor itself is set for the correct AC frequency (50Hz/60Hz) for your location?

What model monitor is it?
