R52 doesn't have the create recovery cds option

#1 Post by Mikroft » Wed Jul 19, 2006 9:53 am

I followed the notes in access ibm and went to all programs, access ibm, but don't see a create recovery discs or anything like that. How can I get this option back?

EDIT: Check your control panel and go to add/remove and see if you got accidently remove that R&R accidently. See pic: http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/4851/c ... d01lr9.gif

If you cannot see the R & R in the C:/ drive, then the word comes in again--> Revert back to factory setting.

Backup your datas before reverting back to factory setting.

Had exactly the same problem with my R50e last night.

Restoring to factory condition did not help.

I called IBM and after some trouble shooting.. dealing mainly with my CDRW drive (according to the IBM Tech if its not properly seated the R&R function will not..see... the drive and will not give the option to create the disks)

To make a long story short, IBM agreed to mail me a set of factory recovery disks.

Nope. I have the IBM Access folder but it just doesn't have rescue and recovery in there. Not in the add/remove programs in the control panel either. And I had just performed a complete system restore on the drive already. Any other ideas?
