Must be Canadian pounds or something.
My T41p with a 9 cell battery and multi-burner comes in right at 5.5 pounds on my shipping scale.

14.1" SXGA+ T42 with dvd drive should weight at about 5.0 pounds/2.3kg. Are you sure yours weights 6lbs?

Check the calibration on the scale as well as the units.
It should be around ~5lbs

well on the same scale my X40 comes in at exactly 3.2 lbs. with the extended battery. which is what it should weigh. hmm, i should try another scale i guess.

Is your HD full?
That can add a 1/2 pound.
