#1 Post by carbon_unit » Sat Jul 22, 2006 5:17 pm

Is there a USB 2.0 enclosure that will accept my Ultrabay slim combo drive?

Yes, there are many. But you are basically limited to eBay. I rarely see it in other stores.

It costs about $20.

They fit the slim drives? All I seen were ones for the 9.5mm drives.

Did you mean 12.5mm? :D

This is the normal 12.5mm drive female connector:
NEC Slim DVD Burner Black IDE Model ND-6750A - OEM

The ultrabay slim drives use a male connector. I haven't been able to find a USB enclosure that fit.

You could buy the Ultrabay 2000 USB/PCMCIA device and use a ultabay 2000 > ultrabay slim adapter
