X60s - Is the L2400 CPU soldered in?

#1 Post by mfratt » Sat Jul 22, 2006 8:05 pm

Does anyone know if the 1.66GHz Core Duo CPU in the X60s is soldered? I remember the ULV X41 models had soldered CPUs and I am afraid the X60s might have the same. I ask because I was hoping to upgrade to Merom (Mobile Core 2 Duo) once its released, as it is claimed to be compadible with the Yonah motherboards.
X60s 1704-69U (Core Duo 1.66LV, 1.5GB, 100GB 5400, 12.1" XGA, WWAN, 8 Cell, DVDRW in X6)
External Storage: 250GB + 500GB Porshce

T40 Project: (Planned) P-M 2GHz, 2GB, 100GB, DVDRW

truefalse: That is not correct. IIRC the CPU has always been soldered in for the X series.
