T43 not recognizing AC adapter

... My T43 thinks "the power plug is not plugged in"...

*I have verified the AC outlet has power by plugging in a monitor*

I do have a spare AC Adapter from a T41 at home that I will test tonight. If it works, then I guess my AC adapter got hosed somehow.

1. Does the 3-year warranty cover the power adapter as well?

2. If it doesn't work, then it must be a loose power connection on my thinkpad. Is there anything I could try (software or hardware) before I take it into the service center? Perhaps remove the LCD from its hinges to access the power screw myself?

Yeah, the warranty should cover the AC adapter as well. Do you have a multimeter/voltmeter (or know someone with one) so you can test the adapter? If it's not the AC adapter, then it's probably the notebook - perhaps a loose connection - and you'll have to send it in.

Well, it turns out it was the AC adapter.

I tried a T41 adapter and (thankfully) it has charged my battery to 97% now. I will have to take in the AC adapter in for an exchange...

The broken adapter was actually from an old T41 (guess we got the T43 brick swapped wrongly somehow)... luckily the girl at the counter accepted the T41 brick even though it wasn't a match.

Here in HK's Thinkpad/Lenovo repair center, they have 4 outlets setup with LAN cable/power for surfing while you wait.

They are replacing the power brick for me as I type this

edit: she even gave me a new trackpoint cap
