Or, you're being "had"!nctalkinghead wrote:Thanks for this input! Sounds like a really "customized" T40.
A clean stock T40 goes for around $500.
Add a few hundred to cover legitimate upgrades such as a multi-burner, max RAM and an upgraded HD and you're looking at $750 to $800 max.
No T40 ever had a 15" display, nor a 2GHz processor.

James

I am pretty sure you are being had; there is *no* T4X Series Thinkpad I know of with 2.0GHZ, 550FSB (???), 599MHz RAM (wha?), and a *Radeon 7500*...What on earth kind of combo is that? The GPUs are soldered, I haven't heard of common memory clocks like that and that is a pretty bizzare FSB for a 2.0GHz P-M. Plus, the T40s didn't have those options at the time; not to mention the 15" screen size.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Being led to the wrong conclusions, or being given a fake deal. It's more of a colloquialism than formal English.bigtiger wrote:Sorry for being stupid. What do you mean by "Being Had"? I am kind of at lost. Is this really English or some kind of net-language?
Forum family (well me, anyway) probably thinks you should check out the Marketplace here - there'll be reputable sellers with legit systems at decent prices. Welcome!

Actually I believe my 2374-PU2 had a Radeon Mobility 7500..christopher_wolf wrote:I am pretty sure you are being had; there is *no* T4X Series Thinkpad I know of with 2.0GHZ, 550FSB (???), 599MHz RAM (wha?), and a *Radeon 7500*...What on earth kind of combo is that? To the OP (nctalkinghead):
Don't get ripped off. I bought a T42 for $650 off eBay, T40s should be around $500 or less... even with upgrades it should come nowhere to the price listed in your original post.
