Any new promos in Lenovo.com ?

#1 Post by jagged » Wed Jul 26, 2006 10:36 am

I got a new T60 thanks to someone's post about the AMEX My Wishlist promotional link within the Lenovo site.

There are a few online deals going on in Lenovo.com now but I'm curious, are there new "secret" promos going on in Lenovo similar to the AMEX My Wishlist promo?

I'm planning to buy another computer, possibly an R60 or N100 for one of my office staff.

Ah, well...You have to look is all I could say. ;) :)

IBM has had either sekrit (or pricing slip-ups some might say) on their sites for awhile. Once, it had to do with brand new Thinkpad HDDs for $37.50, the next time it had to do with an early release of the Core Duo Z61s at a rather low price point. Various examples of such have occured for an actual "limited time" basis.

In regards to actual sales that they advertise on their website, most of them come annually or right before the release and immediately after (usually for an extended period of time) the release of a new model. They also usually have a sale around Christmas time too. :)

In the case of the Amex mywishlist promo last month, I tried checking the promo pages and doing a search in the Lenovo site but couldn't get a link to go that page.

That page is still active although the T60's being offered are priced much higher now.

So I'm thinking, maybe there are similar deals going on right now that's just "hidden" ? How did Lenovo announce the Amex mywishlist promo before?

Through a little graphic box on their website if I recall correctly. It is probably still valid but "de-linked," effectively making it difficult to find except if you call up and ask.

Just remember that ten years ago, a 760ED with 16mb RAM and 1.2gb 4200rpm hard drive would have cost you in excess of $7,000.

In a thread somewhere back in the old pages of this forum I think I recall Bill speaking of a 760CD he had for sale that he lost to a frauder and it set him back somewhere in the lines of ten grand if my memory is serving me right. I wonder what these prices would be after adjusting for today's inflation.
