Powering off monitor, comes back?

I have a T42. Whenever I turn the monitor off (Fn + F3), certain things will turn it back on(Trillian, etc). Is there any way to keep the lcd off unless I turn it back on?

Yup happens to me too. There's probably a setting somewhere I'll try lookin around.
