600E - 600X Upgrade

#1 Post by mattyprice4004 » Thu Jul 27, 2006 1:07 pm

Hi there, As some of the regulars in the forum will know I have an IBM 600E laptop, running at 400MHz with the recently added 352MB of RAM. It is running great (thanks! :P ), and has a fast spin 80GB Toshiba hard disk to help things run smoothly.

I was just wondering about upgrading to a 600X to be honest, as although I love my 600E (My HP NC6000 P-M 1.6GHz is gathering dust!), I would love a bit of extra CPU power.

Would I notice the difference? And does the 600X have 3D graphics? I also looked at the T2x series, and they look very tempting.

Thanks,

Mat :)

im happy with mine,400 +over in (xp,or 166 with triones drivers(win me.if i ever needed to accomplish some hefty 3d memory hogging game or program,i prefer the desktop instead)as for 400 mghz 600e!never failed me on the net, office, typical games, all apps infact less issues than many a agp 8x geforce fx i come across my times with driver incompatability /rendering issues in the most simplest of games:shock: you can get 433mghz out of your cpu for the cost of a 1 kohm resistor,at 72.5 fsb the ram will maintain cas 2,2,2 timings, you will notice the difference in speed
thats what i like about good ol machines.
better yet fit a p111 cpu you will not reget it .
(unless you got one of the rare older 600e mobos)
