X60s leads Top 5 Ultraportable chart (PC World)

#1 Post by tfflivemb2 » Fri Jul 28, 2006 8:23 pm

Check this out:

Interesting note is that while the X60s was #1, the Lenovo 3000 V100 was #3.

Excellent :D

This reminds me when the T4X Series was selected as the #1 Desktop Replacement laptop and the R Series the #1 General Laptop, both by PC world; I think PC world got their categories mixed up that one time. ;) :)

X60s has me seriously drooling, but the last thing I need is another high-dollar bleeding-edge laptop.

Oh, come now, you *know* you want it. ;) :)

Heck, even *I* want it after trying out an X60 and I can't even come up with a reason to get it in addition to a T61p. (not that that means I am not trying to invent some, believe me.) :D

Oh I definitely want it, but between the MacBook and X41 I've got no real justification to spend the money.

Did anyone else mistake the X in the picture for a 600 series? That picture with the docking station is not the most flattering shot.

I didn't mistake it for a 600 series, but I will admit that any Thinkpad that doesn't have a touchpad will take me a moment to figure out what series it belongs to, at first glance.

This is one of the things that I like about Thinkpads. They all look similar. If someone is using a Thinkpad, there is no question as to which brand they are using. They stand out. Until the Lenovo laptops came out, you could almost count on any solid laptop being a Thinkpad, whereas with the silver ones....who knows.

Not a 600, but a 380X. It looks really disproportionate with the X6. I might have to get the new mini dock (when it becomes available for the X60) just to use at my desk.
X60s 1704-69U (Core Duo 1.66LV, 1.5GB, 100GB 5400, 12.1" XGA, WWAN, 8 Cell, DVDRW in X6)

How could they call the fairly heavy 4.6-lb HP Compaq "ultraportable"? Crazy people.
