Thanks for the article link. Too bad the article itself is too short.
That concept design #1 is very similar to (if not the same as) another Thinkpad concept picture I saw a few years ago. I for one would welcome it if they ever put it into production, since one of the problems with laptops as far as ergonomy goes is how low the screen sits with respect to the user. It also sort of brings memories of another Thinkpad "transformer", the 701 series with the butterfly keyboard. Ah, memories.

That brings to mind the Transformers!

She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Don't part with your 701C, don't you do it! I've been looking to get one of those in pristine condition in eBay for a while now. As well as a Transnote and a bunch of others (240, 600X, S30, etc). But the 701 has to be one of the coolest Thinkpads ever. I still remember the advertising campaign that IBM started when the thing came out, and how much I hated I didn't have enough money to get one.

It isn't parting from me at all.
If you can find one in good condition, it makes an *Awesome* ultraportable with huge, extra dose of "Cool."

You're right. It is just a cool computer with a lot of pedigree and some good mechanical engineering thrown in. Someday I'll get my hands on one and install Linux on it just for the sake of it. I'm pretty sure you could configure a Linux installation on one of these Thinkpads to run pretty fast.christopher_wolf wrote:It isn't parting from me at all.
