FS: Nearly new R52 - 1.7g, 1gb, 60gb, Price Reduced Again!

#1 Post by BioHazard » Tue Aug 01, 2006 2:40 pm

Just in time for back to school!

I am selling a basically new R52 Thinkpad. I originally purchased the laptop from our own brainpicker back in Feb. 2006. I have opened the box and used the laptop about 10 hours. It looks brand new. I always use a screensaver (www.radtech.us) on my laptops (basically a microfiber cloth between keyboard and screen) so it's perfect.

The only reason for selling is that I want to upgrade to something with a little higher resolution screen. Original box, all paperwork, plastic bags etc - even the original twist ties are included in this deal.

The model number is: 1848-W1H with the following specs:

P M 740(1.7GHz),
1GB RAM,
60GB 4200rpm HDD,
15in 1024x768 LCD,
64MB ATI Radeon X300,
24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD,
Intel 802.11abg wireless(MPCI),
Modem(CDC),
1Gb Ethernet(LOM),
UltraNav,
Secure Chip,
6c Li-Ion batt,
WinXP Pro

Note that it does have a discreet video card w/ 64m ram - so it definitely is Vista ready.

Most importantly - the unit carries a full warranty until January 2009. This warranty is not only for Accident Protection but is also for Onsite service too! That alone is worth half of what I am asking.

Because I want to sell this quickly - I will also include a shrink wrapped, unopened, full copy of Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003. This is a legit copy of the software - something I won in a raffle - part of the deal for you.

But that's not all! When I make a purchase of this size, I don't want to wait for shipping - and neither will the buyer of this laptop...so included is Fed Ex overnight insured shipping.

In order to do this - a couple of caveats -

I will only sell / ship to Continental United States.
Paypal for payment please - with shipping to your confirmed Paypal address.

Asking price: REDUCED! $800 or BEST OFFER

Save Me From eBay - Will take Best offer this weekend

Laptop - $1800 when originally purchased
Warranty
MS Office SB
Overnight Shipping

Pictures available on request
I've been an eBay'r since before it was called ebay (auctionweb:) and have strong feedback there - available on request

Price Reduced - Make a Reasonable Offer!

#4 Post by BioHazard » Fri Aug 04, 2006 11:26 am

I'm hoping for a reasonable offer to hit my inbox over the weekend. I'd rather deal w/ someone here than take my chances on eBay.

Come on! This is a great deal on a barely used laptop w/ a comprehensive warranty for the next 2+ years. Somebody somewhere needs this!

FINAL BUMP before eBay gets it. I will listen to any reasonable offer for this system.

Thanks

This laptop was purchased from me as claimed. It was brand new in a sealed box when I shipped it, so Biohazard is the original user. It was as smooth a sale as any I can remember.

We had originally bought 2 of this model for ourselves and loved them, so we made a purchase of the remaining stock back in mid-January for some college students who each wanted a laptop they wouldn't have to worry about for many years. All of them sold as planned, but one of the kids didn't follow through so I had this one left for Biohazard to purchase. Most of the buyers play games, and some have commented to me that games which didn't run on their desktops play fine on their R52, so the 64MB ATI-X300 is no wimp, and if I remember correctly the 1GB of RAM in these is a single 1GB stick so no RAM is wasted upgrading to 2GB. They are quite nice and a great value. Like a T43 in an R-series body. I've had no complaints from any of the owners of this model R52 (including Mrs. Yak).

I you are interested at least make Biohazard an offer. From the conversations we've had I can't see him being the type of guy who would be offended if you think his asking price is out of line. Remember, it IS just an asking price.

If this goes to eBay I'll be bidding for sure, and if I didn't already have the R50p I've been trying ti sell (see my SIG) I would have made an offer on this already!
