14 inch screens are rare

#1 Post by Guest » Sat Aug 14, 2004 12:36 am

I wanted to know how big a 14 inch screen was. I have a 12 inch screen and most people around me have 15 inch screens. I went to best buy, CompUSA and no one had a 14 inch screen. Kind of disappointed but I can see how it is smaller. There are 15 inch screens and then 15.4 in screens. Some manufactures make them downright huge. My sister has a 15inch XGA screen and does not like it she would rather something smaller. It is kind of weird that IBM and only a few companies have 14 inch screens. The 15 inch screens do seem large for a laptop. But people do different things with laptops nowadays so...

Also I did check out a 12 inch screen with SXGA and although the fonts was small I could still read it so I think I will live with the 14 inch SXGA screen on the

No it's fine reading posts in installments - a bit like turning the page of the newspaper at breakfast - keep it up...

The T42 15" is not nearly as big as the Sonys, Toshibas and Dells but still looks huge when compared to the 14". Search the forums for side-by-side pics, should show you the difference.

14" screens are common on business machine. Retail consumer machines usually go for bigger (and often cheaper/lower quality) ones.

Dell, Gateway, IBM, Compaq, HP all have 14.1" screens.
