TP 760XL RAM upgrade problems

#1 Post by tghlk » Wed Aug 02, 2006 11:01 pm

Right now I've got my 760XL at 48 meg. I attempted to install a 64meg stick as well as a 32meg size and I keep getting strange memory sizes reported such as 24meg, 16 meg and 32 meg so it obviously does not recognize the RAM I installed. I have tried changing the position of tiny switch which didnt help. Installing the 64 meg stick in the right side socket still does not work. According to the specs, it should work. I had a similar problem with another 760XL that I had last year. What's the deal with upgrading the memory? It seems rather picky. It seems like the thing I can do is keep the original 48meg config It has now. When I had the 64meg stick in and ran EX setup RAM tests, everything passed.

I believe the 760 series can only recognise ram of 64MB if it is a double-slot stick of ram...
760ED All the way.

FEEL THE BURN! From the bottom of that particular laptop... right in the bawsack! eek
