#1 Post by AlphaKilo470 » Wed Aug 02, 2006 11:09 pm

I've been searching the internet for weeks and still have found nothing so if anyone would happen to have a copy of Windows 3.1 w/ pen services, let me know, thanks.

Not to hijack a thread, but ditto on that one. I am looking for it as well for my 730T. I have been looking for this or an older version of OS/2.

Hello everyone,

I am not an expert in MS Pen Service (though I got a 360PE a half a year ago - still has not got some time to play with it).

Anyways, is it not Pen Service (both v.1 and 2) just an add-on for a regular Windows (3.1 or 95)?

If so, I may have some zip-files that I downloaded from TWiki web-site. They used to have some Pen Service realted pages. I tried to open those webpages from my bookmarks today - no luck :-(

Let me know if you are interested in those files (as far as I remember, the drivers for 360-730 are in there).

Thanks,
Val

Well, if the files don't work on your computer that doesn't really fill my confidence but if you can ofrward the files, I'd love to give it a shot. Anything is worth the chance in trying to get my 750P fully functional. With the computer in such great shape (mint condition, not even the silver ThinkPad lettering is tarnished) it's a real shame to see it just sitting there on my desk unused.

I am not saying they won't work. Actually, I believe that they should work. The TWiKi web site stated that Pen Services drivers are laptop specific and the ones I downloaded are the Thinkpad version.
My 360PE came with the original installation (PC Dos with Pen support + Win 3.1 with Pen Services v1 and all the IBM software). That's why I did not try the downloaded version. However, my current plan is to get Win95 + Pen Services v2 installed (I got a 32 MB DRAM upgrade card for that laptop so it should be able to handle it). Yet, I still have no time to play with it.
Anyways, PM me with your email and I will send you the files I have.

Thanks,
Val
