I know that there were issues after a clean install (by the way...highly recommend clean install...the guide published within the windows OS forum was on the money).
Anyway, i read up on the whole audio complications after a clean install, but can't seem to get the correct drivers installed. I have tried to ''update'' my audio codec drivers and targeted the c:\drivers\others3 first...but that didn't work.
I know i am doing something stupid wrong, so if anyone can give me the steps i need to take to re-install my audio, i would be much obliged.

Thanks to Ekjenner, i now have audio back after a windows clean install.
For everyone that is not completely familiar with Windows XP
1>Download the kb888111 file
2> then download winrar from rarlabs.com and extract it (the above file)
3> Ignore the windows found new hardware prompts
4> go to http://www.pc.ibm.com/support and hit 'detect my system'
5> Install active x (if you have a popup blocker it will show that something was trying to download...accept/install active X from Lenovo)
6> Download and install audio driver
7> go to my computer/device manager/
8> click on audio/click on reinstall driver, and then reinstall from specific location...click on browse, and find c:\drivers\audio. Click that folder, and Vaula! Audio is back for Windows XP.
Thanks for help, this forum is great. I just figured i would condense all this information into 1 post, and hopefully people will find it useful.
