Extra battery?

#1 Post by rknt50c » Sat Aug 14, 2004 9:01 am

I'm considering ordering a 2379DXU and would like to have a spare battery.

Any thoughts on the choice between
-- Ultrabay slim
-- T40/R50 High capacity ?

Thanks for any experiences or guidance.

I have both - the Ultrabay slim has very low capacity. The advantage is that if you don't need the optical drive - it is easy to carry inside the machine.

I would get the 9-cell (Hi Capacity) or another 6-cell

I'm using the 6-cell + 9-cell. Together, there's enough power to cross the Pacific to China. So there ought to be plenty of power for day to day use. I would second the previous recommendation. Also I would consider buying your battery from www.newegg.com--their price on the 9-cell is very low & they're a very reliable reseller.

I would opt for the 9cell. It'll give you the additional capacity and you have the option between going big or just normal.

Thanks very much, everyone. IBM has a "deal" on the extra batteries with system purchase, and I appreciate your help to make a wise choice.

AFAIK is the ultra bay slim a 3 cell, the normal a 6 cell and the high capacity a 9 cell accu. So it is easy to see, which one is needed.
