New IBM Txx series.......should I register?

Hi Was wondering if it is worth registering new laptop with IBM?

Will this help me in the future?

It sure won't hurt. Your warranty will start in case you run into trouble. If you don't register you won't get notifacation of criticle IBM updates.

I registered my TP (serveral) and have gone back to IBM post-registration and made them forward-date the warranty start date to when sold. Do that much at least. I turned off email notifications - I just check the site. My machine is 100.0 percent up-to-date so I don' t need them emailing me ... JD Hurst
