how do you clean your X60(s)
how do you clean your X60(s)
My X60s has a lot of dust and finger print on the LCD, how do you guys clean the screen and the keyboard ?
I use a microfiber towel moistened with warm water which cleans the display very nicely with no chance of harming it. Then I use it on the keyboard and case.
For leaning out around the keyboard etc. I use the can of compressed air that is sold for cleaning cameras, and other sensitive equipment.
Finally, I do not eat or keep drinks near the computer which saves me from spilling or dropping crumbs into the keyboard or other areas.

Mind you, the majority of electronic equipment sill survive getting submerged as long as it is OFF when you do so. (And by that I mean no batterys in there, nothing). However I seriously don't advice doing it unless you really do know what you are doing. ;D

You might want to be careful with the water you use. If your water supply has significant amount of minerals, those will be deposited on your screen/laptop when the water evaporates. Some people use distilled water to avoid deposits or a 50/50 solution of distillled water mixed with Isopropyl alcohol (rubbbing alcohol). Most office supply stores will sell you a cleaning fluid for LCDs that sometimes includes polymers of some sort that are supposedly better. Who knows.archer6 wrote:I use a microfiber towel moistened with warm water which cleans the display very nicely with no chance of harming it. Then I use it on the keyboard and case.
For the LCD, I use a microfiber cloth and some sort of alcohol solution made for LCDs. After that, I clean the notebook cover and keyboard the same way.
