Can someone tell me what the thing is lies upon the heatsink? Picture: http://www.thinkwiki.org/images/6/6c/T4 ... ensors.jpg, the thin gray soft sponge-like thing, the highlight area on the right side of CPU(0x78 below fan extension) in the picture. I suppose it's functioning like some isolating stuff between underneath metal surface of the keyboard & the heatsink.
Now the problem is, after my T43 running for some time(>4 or 5 hours), this thing is getting very sticky, oil-like, the left hand side of the keyboard is getting a bit difficult to type, expecially the left Alt key...
So, what happened here? If it's some permanent damage, is there a possibility to replace just this part(not the whole fan & heatsink)?

that is something like rubber, which sustain the weight and impact induces when typing,
yes, this is a bit oily. Although i may be sticky, it won't melt
no FRU for that particular piece that you looking for...
unless you change a new Long Fan will do.

Well, it's as a matter of fact very sticky in my case... I'll open it up a little bit to get it dried or sth, seems no other good solutions for this small small issue.gunston wrote:that is something like rubber, which sustain the weight and impact induces when typing,
