770ED Modem not recognized in Win ME upgrade

#1 Post by Guest » Fri May 14, 2004 5:28 pm

Modem not functioning after Windows upgrade from 98SE to ME. ME Upgrade install identifed that the DSP modem software was not compatible with ME and needed to be uninstalled and the proper software installed. Within the ME upgrade was an automated process to accomplish this that I completed in accordance with the instructions. Modem is now not addressable after upgrade completion. I downloaded the correct ME driver for this modem but am being prevented from installing it. I get a message that the current modem software has to be installed and a dialog box is supposed to open from the DSP to allow me to delete the software. No dialog box and I cant find any software. The folder were this software was once installed is now gone (I think the ME upgrade did that). The Catch22 is that without removing the existing software, the new software cannot be installled. Help !! Perhaps some one can post a manual uninstall process. TIA, Knute
