My ship date for a X60T w/ Touch screen was delayed until 1/8. If it gets delayed anymore I won't get it before leaving for school :(

I ordered a sxga+ system on Dec.1 myself, originally dec. 16 ship date. now it's 1/25!!!
school starts on 1/15, this delay is really lame. my only experience with lenovo, and I am not impressed.

Lenovo sent out a multitude of SXGA+ units to reviewers 6 weeks ago, yet they still wont ship them to customers, until HOPEFULLY 3 months later...!

The most amazing thing is that all the reps are [censored] clueless to it all. Not only is their supply chain horrible, but they are incapable of communicating either.

i just checked today to see what lenovo was reporting as the estimated shipping date for a new system, and noticed that the SXGA+ option for the tablet is gone. Guess they got tired of disappointing their customers.

T minus 1.5 months for mine, assuming no more delays (yea, right).

sxga+ x60t shipping date

#94 Post by Woodstock » Fri Dec 29, 2006 11:26 am

I ordered an X60T with SXGA+ on 12/8. Estimated shipping date was 12/22. On 12/23, ESD had slipped out to 02/09, which is what is still listed.

Maybe it will move up a day or two if enough people cancel their orders... :-)

You might get your wish Woodstock :-) Lenovo pushed us out to 2/13/07, and I cancelled our order as this won't make it in time for the school session. Good luck!

Anyone received an x60t with SXGA+?

#96 Post by Woodstock » Wed Jan 03, 2007 10:31 am

Has anyone here actually taken delivery of an x60 tablet with SXGA+ display that they ordered through Lenovo web site?

Thanks,

From the GBM Forum, it sounds like no one has (including resellers). The Estimated Ship Date for mine has been pushed to next week (I don't expect it to ship next week, of course).

I wonder if they are shipping the SXGA+ machines, but only to companies or universities with contracts. I would think that the supply of these monitors would not be 0, considering how pretty much every reviewer had the sxga+ unit.

don't know diddly

#99 Post by EnergySka » Mon Jan 08, 2007 1:24 pm

Ordered X60T w/ SXGA on 12/1/06, have had date pushed back twice. Current ship date 2/9/07. Reps don't know diddly. Customer Relations told me on 12/22 that units would begin shipping second week of January.
They don't seem to get it - if only we were keep apprised of the facts, maybe we wouldn't be so [censored] off. How can they all be clueless?

I had a good experience using a friend's X41 tablet and the X60 was reviewed so well, that I'm trying to be patient and not just cancel this thing. But - looks like I won't get mine before school starts again.

Lenovo - get your act together!

It may be a cultural difference. Given that AFAIK zero production SXGA+ tablets have shipped, it might not even be a Lenovo problem. The LCD plant could have had a problem. But without knowing for certain, we can only blame Lenovo.

The other problem is the various Tablet PC blogs not publically pushing for the answer. I guess they don't want to put their future interviews and review units at risk.

I agree (with Tab) that it is likely a factory production problem. Many of these machines have been ordered, and considering that Lenovo has removed the SXGA+ as an option on new orders - they must have some realistic idea when the screens will be produced, delivered and ready for X60 builds.

I have come up blank searching for info on the factory problem, and as you say the tablet user sites are either keeping mum, or refusing to press the issue. I feel like Lenovo (maybe rightly) believes that the machine is unique enough to have little effect on total orders. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that they have hired a supply chain wizard from Dell - hopefully they will improve that aspect, and work on making production problems more transparent to consumers.

A number of people have said they've canceled. I haven't, because as someone on the GBM forum said, Lenovo is very very lucky they have a good product. Their supply chain isn't winning them any customers.

Yes, but unfortunately it doesn't give a date certain when SXGA+ units will definitely start shipping. Has anyone (reseller, customer, anyone) gotten notice that an SXGA+ unit has shipped?

X60 1706-B5U

#106 Post by Duo Secundus » Mon Jan 22, 2007 9:24 am

I just got my X60 (1706-B5U, non-tablet).

Code: Select all

01-16 Tue Placed order.
01-19 Fri Order shipped.
01-22 Mon Delivery from UPS.
This is my 4th ThinkPad, but certainly the time from order placement to delivery was the fastest ever. According to the Lenovo's order status site, the estimated ship date was 2007-02-02. Go figure.

Oh yeah, I know. I was just surprised at how fast I received my X60 (non-tablet). My sympathies to those who have been waiting so long to get the X60T.

Finally got to use mine (typing this post with it). I think since you've waited this long, you should just continue to wait. I really like it so far.

I didnt cancel.
But I plan to first thing monday morning when the lines open
apparently people who ordered the same model as I in janurary have had their shipped. i filed a complaint and a manager was supposed to have called on tuesday. He failed.
worse experience ever. I will not consider lenovo again.

Now i have to think about all those stories about lenvo shipping and charging canceled orders. good thing wells fargo actually has good CS, so i'm not worried about it.

Okashira, you should at least wait until the 8th: http://www.lenovoblogs.com/insidethebox ... omment-405

FWIW, a few other people had their order ship a couple of days before mine did.

Not too far behind you Oka, ordered 12/9 myself, still no word, and the worthless online ESD was pushed back to 2/26
