Sorry, it seems like my first post was pretty confusing. I'll try to make this one more clear.

Could you possible post the FRU# for the multi burner. I think there is more than one model of it.

I can't find the fru# from the website, but it's Panasonic UJ-822B. Writes DVD -R/+R/-RW/+RW/RAM/ROM. No dual layer unless there's a firmware upgrade I'm unaware of.

There has to be a FRU# on the drive, unless it is not an original IBM part

The FRU# on the drive is 39T2507. I meant that I could find a record of the drive on the lenovo site anymore.
