Refurbished Laptops ok?

I can get a good price on a refurbished T42 from IBM Canada. Is there anything bad about a refurbished laptop that would make me want to spend an extra $500 CDN to get a new one?

usually not a problem.... warranty offered is key!

IBM is giving a 15 day "satisfaction guarantee" and a 1 yr limited warranty. Is this enough pretection?

15 day should be fine.

Thinking about refurbrished units, I do have to wonder how many people return a system because of dead pixels. It's very possible that refurbs have a higher incident of visible dead pixels, but I have no data, factual or anecdotal to back it up. If it is true, that 15 day policy will be a lifesaver
