1400x1050 resolution screen displayed at 1024x768

#1 Post by yahoo27 » Sun Aug 15, 2004 3:20 pm

I was thinking of purchasing the 2378-FVU model from IBM mostly because of the high resolution but I plan on hooking it up to an external monitor that only supports resolutions up to 1024x768. If I change the resolution of the TP to 1024x768 will the picture look distorted in any way?

Thanks for input.

Yep, the outlook will look filtered and somewhat fuzzy because the screen's native resolution will not be the same as the display resolution.

However, if you hook up an external monitor, you can just extend your desktop from the Display properties and run dual-monitors. Keep your laptop at 14x10 and your external as 10x7 and use both at the same time!

ATI Radeon that come with 2378-FVU will able to use DUAL monitor (LCD+external moinitor), meaning you can setup to extended your dekstop in XP display properity. your primary desktop is thinkpad LCD running at 1400x1050, and secondary desktop with your CRT monitor running at 1024x768. you can move application form primary desktop to secondary desktop.

do a seach on this forum will see lots more information.
