#1 Post by 88888882 » Sun Aug 15, 2004 3:51 pm

I did BIOS system check up. The mother board shows error messages like these:

DEV 001
ERR 96
FRU 3810

What's wrong with it? Please help.

IBM 600 Motherboard Error

Did you check your cmos battery? I got a TP600 board last night with all sorts of error codes not explicitly attributed (in the HMM) to a dead cmos battery. They disappeared once I changed the cmos battery.

FRU 38 means fan error. For the 600, that often means your cmos battery is bad. Don't ask. . . just go get a new cmos battery.

That is right. I changed the CMOS battery and the machine works now. The fan appears good. Do not understand the error code. Thanks!!!!
