T23 Savage ixc 1014 video card question

#1 Post by rixter » Thu Aug 10, 2006 7:20 pm

I think part of the problem with my T23 may be the video card. Are there upgrades for this machine? If so what are they? If not what is the most current driver for it showing 12-03 on the driver details but I though mabey S3 made one after that

Check the IBM or S3 support site for latest driver. It's an old chip and when combined with the fact that the newest version of Windows debuted 5 years ago, a driver that's a year or two old is no surprise.

Since you already have the nicest of the first generation T series, there's really nothing you can upgrade as everything is soldiered on the motherboard.

If you find anything out, please post back here. I just had a problem when I tried to install Easy Media Creator 8 onto a WinXP T23. It blue-screened after updating the registry values with an indication that the "s3ssav.dll" file was causing the problem. I was suprised to find that the T23 reports the video as IXC 1014 and not IXC 16 according to the tawbook.

Thanks guys I appreciate the help I figured there was no way to change it out or get a newer driver I just wanted to ask the gurus to confirm it. This all started when I installed command and conquer generals I get to the spash screen and crash. It ran on my a21p but the video was so choppy it was not worth it. I ran the EA games sytem check and it sees my cpu as 22mhz lol man gotta love it. I will keep looking to see if I can figure anything out I love CNC it helps fill the bordem hours with mind numbing activity lol.
Thanks again

There is one way to fix it, buy desktop ;) T23 isn`t speed demon in games, I play only one game on it, CS 1.6 with 35-45 fps on 800x600 resolution :)
