t41 with t42p motherboard

#1 Post by semaj » Fri Aug 11, 2006 5:56 am

what do you think would net me more money. Parting this system out or selling the laptop as a whole? How much do you think it would get here or on ebay?I woul dpost this in the t4x threads but they usualy get moved here

IBM T41
1.6 ghz processor
1 gig of ram 2700
40 gig hdd 5400 rpm
80211.b intel pro wireless 2100b
14.1 xga screen
cd-rw/dvd
6 cell battery
With a t42p motherboard in it with the 128 mb fire gl card in it with long fan..

What do you think i would get if i sold it as a whole or part it out? Or if i sold the board that has video problems(the original t41 board) in the laptop and sold it as not working and sold the t42p motherboard. or part out toally? What do you think would be best if I did. thanks

Dibs on the T42p board if you sell it.

The rest of the parts, besides the boards, are worth $350 tops (honestly, none of them are that spectacular compared to baseline specs today).

The broken T41 board? Who knows. Maybe $10-40 on ebay.

You would probably get the most by completely parting it out on Ebay. By completely parting it out, I mean sell the keyboard, palmrest, etc all separately.

With the T42P board. I would say around $500-600. It is out of warranty, right? Out-of-warranty might hold many people back.
currently own X61S, T42, X31, Macbook Pro Unibody i5
