Wireless Driver version question
Wireless Driver version question
Hi,
Does anyone know what the latest intel 2915 abg driver version is?
I just installed the latest intel pro software via software installer on my T43....I think the package is 10.1.1.3 API. It claims that the installed driver version should now be 9.0.4.3 but when I look it is 9.0.1.3 on my machine.....
Is this something weird on my machine or have others noticed it too? It seems to be working fine but confused about the driver version coming from that package..Any comments? Thanks

Mine says 9.0.4.13 dated 05/04/2006 as per driver matrix on Lenovo's website at

sorry:

(link above was for my youngsters T41p) Result is the same, though.

Thanks! very strange...My machine went through the entire install process and then said successful but says 9.0.1.3....Maybe I better try a manual install.....
Not sure how that could happen but I have noticed from time to time 2 version listings of drivers in my list of installed drivers using the software installer...Perhaps both the old version and the new exist in the drivers folder and it keeps pulling in the older version instead of the new?
Just a theory......

Probably a reinstall may clear it... but then removing the current version may not remove the earlier driver, if both are present.
Perhaps looking in the driver folder around '7awc16ww' (the name of the latest install) may reveal something.
(I wonder if there is a list anywhere giving a simple description of each driver name, e.g. 7awc16ww, against what it actually is, version, etc.?)

GomJabbar: Thanks for the reply, but I think you misunderstood my point.
If you take something like the following list (taken from an old catalogue, so many may be out of date)
77ba10ww
77gr06ww
77gu04ww
77ra05ww
77sj01ww
Is there a simple table to cross-relate each name above to a description, version, etc.? (Actually there must be the list somewhere but where?)

Well, the title of this thread is Wireless Driver version question. I guess I did miss your point. I do not have the information you are seeking.Nick Y wrote:GomJabbar: Thanks for the reply, but you still miss my point.
I am not just talking about the Wireless drivers, but *all* drivers in C:\Drivers, old and new, pertaining to the models.
Never mind.

Thanks guys for the input.....I have not had a chance to check it out yet but I suspect I have two versions still in the C:\Drivers\ folder and for some reason it keeps installing the older version....
At least the wireless still works, I guess that is good!
P.S. I also noticed I have two versions of R&R listed too...Both are the same versions, but one says (English) next to the version number...What is up with all this?
