Intensive video editing use

#1 Post by Maurizio Panella » Sun Aug 13, 2006 6:10 pm

Hi all. It's my first post here.I write from Italy.
Here my question:my work is editing video.I stay in front of my computers a lot of hours every day.I'm an happy Ibm Intellistation Z-Pro dual xeon user from 2003 and now I want to upgrade my reliable little Sony Vaio editing station with an Ibm laptop.
But it's a difficult choice. The price is not really a problem.I'm thinking about new Z61P with advanced mini dock. With this model I have the firewire and widescreen is a plus in my job.The hardware I think is perfect with AtiFire GL V5200 with 256Mb.
But I dont know Thinkpad world,so I need your opinion and advice 'cause I'd like to have the best Thinkpad solution for my job.

Thanks in advance,Maurizio.

P.S.:Sorry for my poor english. It's not easy to speak in another language.

The Z series would probably be in your league as that's the ThinkPad that's actually geared towards multimedia. The higher end T and R series laptops would be fine as well but since those models are geared towards office use more than anything else, they wouldn't perform as well as something designed speciffically for multimedia.

I would go with the Z61p as it seems the ideal solution for what you want to do. Even more so than the previous Z Series Thinkpads as well as the T Series and R Series. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
