I personally would say it is wrong to say that a laptop IS good or IS bad, but I would say that the majority of a specified laptop is very good. As with all manufacturers, even IBM and Lenovo had the odd manufacturing duffer here and there.
760ED All the way.

FEEL THE BURN! From the bottom of that particular laptop... right in the bawsack! eek

Uhh... what have you been smoking? I've owned quite a few laptops, and I can say that HP *IS* bad. Dell *IS* bad, nay, horrendous. On the flip, all the IBMs I've owned (save the R31, which was medicore) have been good.

i was disappointed with the top of the lcd bezel. it has too much play in it. the two sides where it fits in (with the different texture) doesn't seem to have a good fit. in the middle, there is that tab that supports the lid when closed--this is too loose as well. if i put pressure onto the lid when closed, i hear the top of the bezel squeek.

Versus all of the other laptop's i have used, IBM has the highest build quality. (Almost) Every Thinkpad I have used feels like a tank, with the exception of the T40 and the right handed mobo killer move. This new X60s is built amazingly, the keyboard feels amazing (will take a while to get used to, since they chopped off the sides of the keyboard.) The base feels good too, but not as high qualiy as the laptop itself.
I have been using thinkpads since the TP 755, when my head office decided to go to IBM. Every one I have used felt like a tank.
I have a Dell Inspiron at my office, used it quite a few times, I can't stand it. I've fixed various Toshiba/Sony/Acer/HP/Dell laptops, I was amazed at how cheap they all felt, although one of the Dell's actually surprised me, felt quite sturdy, but nothing compared to a thinkpad.
Once you use a thinkpad, you can't go back to other laptops.
I just Hope lenovo keeps up the Thinkpad Spirit, and looking at my new x60s, it looks like they are :D
