FS: T30, Atheros 108g, DVD multi burner, NEED TO SELL!!!

#1 Post by skitty4gzus » Tue Aug 15, 2006 7:46 pm

FOR SALE: $400.00 shipped in the continental US.
MAKE ME A REASONABLE OFFER! I need to sell this thing sort of fast. Please make me an offer. I want some hiking gear for next weekend!!!! Make me an offer and I will consider it. I updated listing and added DVD multi burner

Used T30 for sale Specs:

2366-81U, with 158 cycle count on the battery, also in Green healthy condition
1.8ghz P4M
40GB HD
512k RAM
WXP pro SP2 w/COA
14.1 xga no dead pixels
Atheros superGturbo 108g mini pci card
DVD MULTIBURNER!!!

-this thing is almost perfect. There is the most minute hairline crack in the back corner of the case. I just saw it the other day and I have had this for a few months now! It is so small its hard to even say hairline. I will take pics of this if i can as I dont have a digital camera! I am an honest seller and I have bought a few things off of here and those people can at least vouch for my payments being fast and legit. Ask ChristopherWolf about me, I have 42 feedbacks on ebay under sleepysquirrel1. I have 2 buyer feedbacks as well and they are all 100% positive. This laptop is in perfect working condition. The battery has 158 cycles and in the Green. Any questions just ask.

T30

#3 Post by dorronto » Fri Aug 18, 2006 11:48 am

Do both memory slots work??????????

Seems to be a problem in some T30's.

Thanks,
Ron

yes they work fine. Right now they are populated with 2 256k cards and the computer recognizes them just fine. I have never had any kind of problem with that.

T30

#6 Post by dorronto » Mon Aug 21, 2006 1:02 pm

I know the feeling about ebay. I had to do that with some T23's.

This T30 is interesting, but I just bought a R40 which I like a lot.

Good luck,
Ron

1- i dont have a camera at this moment to take a picture, but believe me its small

2-Ibm doesnt have a utility for T30 to manage battery information. I already tried and it was confirmed with ChristopherWolf. And i dont really want to download NHC again as it gave me fits once before and I had to uninstall it. But when i did have it on there I checked the battery and I remember it being in the green. Chris helped with this as well, and he said the battery was still in good condition with the info I gave him at the time. The battery on the T30's arent exactly known for their excellent battery life. At full charge and surfing the battery will last for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I hope this helps

I don't want to hijack this thread, but that battery utility records battery cycles? Is it a stock IBM item in the Power Management area or something?

Battery meter

#10 Post by scosgt1 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:47 pm

It is a standard feature of all ThinkPads since the T2X, X series, A series etc. The last TP that did not have it was the 600 series (and did the 600 ever need it!!)

The utility install automatically with a recovery VCD, or you can download it.

It reads the micro processor (or whatever) inside the battery and reports cycles and (not always accuately) battery health.

scosgt1 do you have any reason to even be in my post? Do you want to buy it or try and prove you know more about thinkpads than I do. I dont know very much about thinkpads thats why I said what I said. ChristopherWolf helped me with no1802 and the IBM utilities to find out battery cycles. He knows way more than I do so I take his word for it when he says there are no utilities for the T30 to recognize battery cycles. Im not bsing anybody so dont waste your time by trying to make me look stupid. Mods please edit this post.

I posted the link for the battery meter

#12 Post by scosgt1 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 9:50 pm

Now install it and tell the people the info they asked for regarding the battery condition.

ADMIN EDIT: Ramp it down a notch Sarge, you're dealing with a neophyte, not a miscreant.

Skitty is nice people.

It definately runs on a T30

#14 Post by scosgt1 » Wed Aug 23, 2006 10:09 pm

As I have personally installed it on over 50 machines.

If it does not run, there is something wrong with the machine.

Try turning off anti-virus. anti-spyware and firewall and then installing.

You do not run fuel32, you install the program by running setup.exe

I looked around my T30 and did not see any battery utility software that shows the number of battery cycles. Perhaps in some software configuration packages, like for use in a corporation where users do not goof around with their laptops but are given to a company tech to deal with, this type of utility is not installed.
Since the battery on my T30 only lasts about an hour, I'd like to see how many cycles are on the battery, so this is a utility I would like to have.
scosgt1-If the utility is installed on a T30, what command would you type into the "Run" box? If it's not there, I can install it and see if it will run on the T30.

Battery cycles

#17 Post by scosgt1 » Thu Aug 24, 2006 7:07 am

Left click on the battery meter (the green thing on the task bar that shows percentage). Left click on BATTERY INFORMATION. Click Battery Health. It shows cycles.

If you look at the other tabs, they also show battery cycles and first used date.

This is good for all ThinkPads up to the T43, which still has the meter, but it is a little but harder to access.

hang in there skitty, I have the same model you do, it is a great machine and I use mine every day and it has not failed me in any way. I don't think you'll get as many hits as fast as you would if it were a t4x , but persistance will pay off.

Well, no, actually, you probably can't since it's not really fair to others. At some point, the thread will be locked.
