T43 hidden partition -need help

Just migrated from a t42 to a t43 (1871-fyg), i had to do re format and fresh install a xp pro , but noticed that the hidden partition is still intact but could no longer access it thru rescue and recovery , is there a way to go back to the orig os software using the contents of the hidden partition . I also do not have recovery cds and buying them in this part of the world will cost a fortune. Coupled with these I am also having issues with the wireleless card .
