T21 LCD Contrast Adjustment.

#1 Post by smsmasters » Thu Aug 17, 2006 1:39 pm

There doesn't seem to be any contrast adjustment for the lcd screen. How do I adjust the contrast of the lcd screen on my t21?

Thanks

As far as I know, there is no user-adjustable contrast control on the T2x series (or for that matter, most of the other Thinkpads that use TFT panels). The brightness can be controlled using the Fn+Home or Fn+End key sequences. Screen brightness levels can also be limited or automatically set when using battery power only via BIOS settings. What is the nature of your problem?

Thank you for your reply.

Basically, I am trying to calibrate my screen using test patterns, etc and I need to be able to adjust the contrast level.

If you click on the Advanced button for the display settings and then S3 Gamma, there are 3 buttons to adjust Gamma/Brightness/Contrast.

IBM TP T41p (1.7G/1GB/100GB-7k100/DVD-CDRW/SXGA+/BT)
IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")
IBM TP A31 (1.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/15" SXGA)

Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, I have indeed checked this menu, however, all I see are 3 options to adjust gamma for the red/green/blue channels. I can't seem to find any contrast options.

There might be a difference between the T20-22 and the T23 in the settings...
Did you install the latest driver from IBM for your OS?

Thank you for replying. Yes, I have installed the latest video driver from that link and I still cannot seem to find any contrast options, only gamma.

I am using windows xp, how about you? What driver version do you have?
