Dialer.net

#1 Post by jdhurst » Thu Aug 17, 2006 11:27 pm

Over a year ago, I was researching world-wide dial-up options and came up with Dialer.net. At that time:
1. They had GRIC Mobile Office which was a dialer only, and co-exists with Access Connections.
2. They had no monthly minimums and your deposit never expired. I had about 80 dollars in the account for future use.

Then, they came out with Go Remote. This application tried to manage the wireless card and was in direct conflict with Access Connections. I uninstalled it, repaired Access Connections and went back to GRIC Mobile Office.

Since then, they have converted to iPass (which I used a long time ago). Now:
1. There is a monthly minimum of 5 dollars in any month used.
2. Money expires after a year on non-use (Turkeys for not telling us).
3. They have discontinued GoRemote and have a new version of iPass Connect. iPass Connect looks like it will conflict with Access Connections.

Does anyone have any experience with iPass Connect on a machine with Access Connections?

I have to add yet more money to re-activate my account and get my 80 dollars back, but if I cannot use the dialer, I'm screwed.

Any assistance? ... JD Hurst

Thank you. I put iPass Connect into a virtual sandbox to see how it works. I will now try it out on my host XP machine with Access Connections. ... JD Hurst
