Why, yes, you can! Check the article: US$6,000. Although this figure is a bit of a tip-off, isn't it? I mean, who in their right mind would pay so much? Then again, nobody said that SUN is ... well, let's not go there.
Ironically, startup-time is the very weak spot of java nowadays. Once a Java application runs, its performance equals that of C or C++ programs. Not to mention the advantages that developers have (or can have) when they use Java instead of C ...

Note to self: Order new smileys from Bill.

I remember on my old old HP desktop, was behaving incredibly slower than the specifications suggested out-of-box. It took a complet fresh install of XP to rectify it (Not the HP version) and even at that it was still a very buggy system. I believe some of the problems were caused by bad motherboard design and a faulty DVD Rom drive.

My Dad used to work right across from them and I used to wander around there when he took me to work. Great building too with good looks.

Although, my dad being close to HP and having them as a client, related to me how there was a rift that developed when the "Computer" guys took the H/P name off the Lab Equipment guys, spun them off and tied 90% of the resources they would give them to the future performance of the "PC maker" HP. I even have several friends here that used to be engineers at H/P working on various lab and clinical devices that got laid off or simply quit because they didn't like what was happening.

That wouldn't have been a Vectra, by any chance? OK, the box is junk, but hey, their keyboards are the only ones that come close to the Model M.
