T-23 keeps losing it's GE optical mouse driver?

Like the topic says I have a GE optical USB mouse, it came with a CD with drivers and button customizing software, all was well for several months and yesterday it stopped working, pointer quit moving and the laser light would not even come on, I unplugged it and plugged it back in and got a new hardware box pop up, but the drivers W2K installed won't make the buttons work right, so I get the CD and reinstall the correct drivers, it works fine for an hour or so then the same problem comes up again!!! It's done this 4 times in 2 days. It's been restarted after each fresh install. I even removed the software and reinstalled but still have the problem. Any ideas
