quotation mark or apostrophe key on the keyboard won't work

#1 Post by syrahnose » Sat Aug 19, 2006 1:11 am

I recently rebulit my x60s and a very irritating thing happened to the keyboard which I seem not to be able to reverse. Whenever I depress either the quotation mark or apostrophe key on the keyboard, they don't actually display till the next key is depressed. It's driving me crazy.

I was told this might be that somehow my keyboard was set to international english, rather than US english. I've looked for some way to reset the keyboard, but haven't found this yet.

Anyone had this problem and know of a solution?

Try All Programs/ ThinkVantage/ Keyboard Customizer Utility, where you can set the keyboard layout and assign keys.

I would not have thought that the problem is International English, but another language.

I had this problem once with my 600 (Win98). You can either do what Nick suggests, or just go into Control Panel and enter the Keyboard applet to switch back to U.S. English.
