Overactive Trackpoint
Every Thinkpad I've ever used, from the 600 Series right up to my X60s, has this weird problem with the trackpoint. Periodically, the mouse will continue moving after I stop moving it. Letting go of the trackpoint for 1-2 secs or moving it back and forth rapidly stops it, but is there any way to stop this all together? It doesnt appear to be software related, since it happens on all OSes I've used. Any tips? Have you experienced the same problem?
X60s 1704-69U (Core Duo 1.66LV, 1.5GB, 100GB 5400, 12.1" XGA, WWAN, 8 Cell, DVDRW in X6)
External Storage: 250GB + 500GB Porshce
T40 Project: (Planned) P-M 2GHz, 2GB, 100GB, DVDRW

My brand new X60s does this from time to time too. I think it may be an issue with the built-in calibration, usually happens when i'm slowly moving the pointer around the screen, and I suspect the computer interprets that as drift instead of user motion. I haven't found a solution yet, but you may want to try checking or unchecking "enhance pointer precision" in the mouse settings and see if that helps any.

this has been covered at least ten times since i found this site. use the search feature to check out all the other people that have asked the same thing..
it's just a part of owning a thinkpad. the calibration can be quite annoying, but 1) don't keep your finger resting on the trackpoint when you're not actively moving it 2) don't disrupt it when it starts moving on its own.
