Unstable VZAccess WWAN Software

#1 Post by mfratt » Fri Aug 25, 2006 12:17 pm

Does anyone else with WWAN notice instability with the VZAccess software? The connection just drops from time to time (which may be normal, but I almost never drop calls with my Verizon cell phone), but what gets me is when I try to restart the connection. VZAccess still thinks the connection is active, although I get no activity, so I click disconnect, the connection disconnects, but "connect" never comes back up. I close the program and relaunch it, but it locks up on the splash screen saying "Looking for service." I have to log out and log back in to reconnect. Is there any way to fix this? Is there any 3rd party software I can use instead?

Also, does anyone know if there is a way to configure it so that wwan reconnects automatically when resuming from standby?

Mine rarely drops out with a good signal. I have not found a way to mak it autoconnect when coming out of standby and no9t sure if i would want it to as it uses significant battery resources. i have ahd my best luck by using my wireless on off switch before closing the cover and making sure I see the disconnect flag. I have had it kind of freeze a few times but not when I do this .. I really use this alot and it is pretty much my mainstay with the internet
