Strange, I see no mention of it's existance on IBM/Lenovo.

Tough call- it looks like one of the newer RoHS replacement FRUs. RoHS is a new requirement which stands for Reduction of Hazardous Substances and cover lead and other somewhat nasty stuff. IBM has been pretty bad about updating the HMM and other docs to reflect the new FRUs which are RoHS compliant. The mobo looks like a straight T42 and is one number off from my planar which is a T42 with a 9600/64. Unfortuntely IBM doesn't even list my T42 in the parts list or the HMM (2373-PSU) and most of the FRU numbers for my components are either listed under the T43 or not at all- strange. Anyway, you might have some luck calling IBM's FRU order line and asking about the part- they might be able to pull up a full description.

The 39T5249 is a T42p stock board with Finger print support. This board is branded into various FRU's ( 39T5454,39T5475, 27K9987,39T5495 etc... ) to seperate them into planar's with or without FPR support.
